I did a lot of research before I bought my Sole E35, and one of the main problems that took the guarantee. My experience so far is that their mandate is not necessary.
The 1 / 17 called the technical support / warranty department of the morning and I have a recording that the office was closed (okay, Saturday - understandable), but I could not leave a message because the mailbox was full (first sign of trouble ). So I went online and completed a job of work on one website.
1 / 20 called again and this time a person (after a long wait on hold), I was told that followed my e-ticket work, he checked the computer and said he did not have a record (for both their website). I asked if she at least had received my warranty card (which I sent and filled out a form on-line) - single ladies on the phone literally laughed in my face, I'm joking, not you. He said that in receiving "thousands" of these cards and do not have time to get into them - I'm not embellishing here. So I started at the point of departure and gave her my problem (the left arm was bent and then the left arm and leg peddle clicked and prizes). They become so professional and polite, took my information and said someone would call with 24 hours.
1 / 22 (last 50 hours) - no call, I called again the sun (in an attempt to get the service) - this lady was very beautiful, I'm sorry for the delay, checked the system (this time I was there ), but said they were very backed up with service calls (perhaps an indication of quality?) - could not give me an estimate of when they would get back to me, just promised that they would - one day.
I will update this when the sun always follows, so if you're reading this and I have a date for the follow-up, you do not.
Another point - the Sun says that you can set their machine in "25-35 minutes" In all honesty, this is another exaggeration (as other reviewers have pointed out). It 'probably the same person who came up with the line of marketing on their website with the sole you can expect the best product, best warranty, the best service and the best support. We will do everything we can to help them make the most of your fitness equipment. "Now I just be happy if my return repeated phone calls.
UPDATE: 2 / 11 - I had to call a few times more - although to be honest, have closed their headquarters for a couple of days because of ice storm. But in the end the follow-up, Sun has provided a replacement part for me (I got today) and I received a call from a local representative to repair my unit - will be able to adapt to me next week. As another consideration, the total time to get this solution will be only about 30 days - until they are prepared to be persistent.
UPDATE: 2 / 14 Now Amazon.com is adding to the problem. Buy this by using the credit card 1 years the promotion rates of interest. When I received the first bill I noticed that he was charging me interest, I wrote an e-mail (and luckily I kept a copy) the 12/28 on this issue. Customer service responded that same day and reassured me that this purchase has been under this year 1, interest free program. I just received my second bill and again saw that it was charging me interest. This time I called, I have a lady who was very professional and assured me they would resolve this issue and I believe the interest charged to my account - I will not hold your breath.
Can any of these companies, with a measure of competence? Can any of these organizations to deliver what they promise online? This is getting to the point I am spending more time to solve the problems on this purchase than actually using my elliptical trainer. BTW - my elliptical has not yet been repaired.
UPDATE: 2 / 20 - Sun repair individual seems, is unable to repair - the flywheel is faulty. He suggested talking to the Sun on just replacing my unit because the unit they sent me is defective and require special reconstruction. He said he intended to submit its report for the simple fact that he was not able to solve this new machine group exercises Sun sent me.
UPDATE: 2 / 23 - Call Sun warranty and advised them of the situation. I ask that they send me what I paid for a job - not bad elliptical machine. Sun advises me to go to their website and fill out an application form for return authorization. I do, and in less than an hour to receive an e-mail back saying: "Unfortunately you need to talk to Amazon to get a replacement for this machine. Let us know if you have other questions." From Cody - Cody@SoleTreadmills.com. I sent an e-mail back asking "Why" - my term and with the sun, not Amazon.com - and the reason I asked that they exchange my car is now guaranteed that their service has not been able to fix the car I sent the sunshine, after more than a month (still no answer).
I call back the sun, and convince them that 1) is provided to the Better Business Bureau 2) I am updating this tread on how their warranty is useless - and how their products are defective. 3) are contacted Amazon.com and advise them I want to stop payment on my credit card for this product since I have not received what I paid for - a new brand, working on an elliptical machine. 4) instead of working with Sun now I'm going to spend my time looking for consumer advice web sites to post my experience with the Sun so that other customers are not burned by this company. 5) I'm going to look for in a small claims suit against the sun, to fraud to sum up my $ 1300 for a new band machine that does not work.
Once again - more proof of how useless this warrant is-I just sent my second payment and I have not been able to use this machine.
UPDATE: 2 / 23 - Just follow the instructions on the Sun to go through Amazon.com to return my machine faulty - got this message from Amazon.com: "a restocking fee equal to 15-50% of the original cost of purchase will be deducted from your refund "
So Amazon.com is charging for me to return a defective product that the security department Sun has been able to solve, after more than a month to try to work with them in good faith.
This ignores the fact that this machine is very heavy and I'm going to pay someone to help me pack it up and bring it downstairs to be shipped. I had to pay someone to carry upstairs when it was delivered - but that was my decision. But it seems very unfair to go to the cost because of failure to deliver what was promised in Sun products and services.
Do not buy cars from Sun, is a nightmare of customer service incompetent.
PS - did not mention, but the men left arm repair has replaced the Sun when he was here Friday, the audit trail is no longer working on it - this is worse.
